The Sterling Silver Jewelry Shopping Chronicles
Fashion, Gold, Platinum, and Silver Jewelry! I know just the basics when it comes to jewelry. I am blogging today to engage you in my experience whilst I was Jewelry shopping for that special one. In my case a very good friend. I opened my phone and I navigated to my web browser and began to type “special jewelry for a ……” there it was Google had suggested FRIEND. I was given thousands of results and images and boy did they look great. I decided in the back of my head I was going to spend about $100.00 USD and the first thing I saw around that price range was sold. Opening this beautifully laid out website with lots and lots of jewelry, my head began to spin. Rings, necklaces, earrings, toe rings, anklets you name it. On and on, a long list of all different types of jewelry. I closed it down immediately because I then realized that this was going to be a challenge for me.
So I began to look at some old photos of my friend. After reviewing about a million selfies not once have I seen her in a necklace or a watch. I began to research the type of necklace I should get on my budget. knowing I wanted it to be something nice but still yet affordable. I decided to try the internet one more time. After about 15 mins of browsing, I came across the perfect necklace. It was everything I wanted. It was nice, it was in my budget and it was small and elegant. However, this was what I wanted, was it what my friend wanted ?.
I began to become obsessed with the fact that I really didn’t know about jewelry as much as I thought. I viewed the description of the necklace and it was made from 925 sterling silver. Back to Google, I went: “what the hell is 925 sterling silver”. Google came back with plenty of answers but this one caught my eye “925 Sterling Silver jewelry certainly does not come cheap. It requires quite an investment from your side, whether you are buying a sterling silver pendant or a necklace. But it is a worthwhile investment as its value increases with time. What is very important though is not to be duped into buying fake 925 sterling silver jewelry”.
“How can I tell that I am buying the right thing?” asking myself. I thought that silver was silver, gold was gold and so on. I never knew that it had to be mixed with copper, I didn’t mention it?! “yes it turns out pure silver is very soft. To get the beautiful jewelry we wear on a daily basis, it is mixed with copper to make it easier to shape and craft…..NEVER KNEW THAT….. now I was willing to pay around $35.99 at the time of writing this for the one above and that was great. I went back to the item and behold, a stamp on the back of the pendant S925, I smiled, $35.99. I can do better than this for her, she has been in my life for almost 14 years and I never go a day without communicating with her.
I went back to the website www.bosschique.com and I took my time looking and I noticed something again that had me kind of confused. What is rhodium plating? Back to my trusty sidekick on jewelry and other stuff: Google. “What Is Rhodium Plating?” Google: Rhodium is a precious metal, a member of the platinum family. Rhodium plating is used, especially on jewelry, to provide a surface that will resist scratches and tarnish, and give a white, reflective appearance.” I was shocked once again. This thing is getting better and better. I decided to up my game, the Platinum family, I began to feel like a rapper looking for his next jewelry piece. I came across a lot of lovely pieces and most relatively affordable.
Jewelry takes people’s minds off your wrinkles.
The next piece of jewelry I am about to show you caught my attention. It was out of my budget and I really wanted to stick to it. This piece was exquisite just like her, and the price was a little much at around $107.99 but this was beautiful. I knew she would fall in love with this piece of jewelry. It had reached all the requirements that I was looking for in a necklace and I just couldn’t afford it at the time. Back to the old drawing board.
Coming across some pearls, Figuring that pearls were outdated but I couldn’t have been more wrong. They looked elegant and luxurious. I knew straight off this was not the price bracket I need to be in but I still looked. Becoming like a moth to a flame. I kept browsing and browsing and began to get carried away. Never knowing there are so many different types of pearls and the prices “wow”, so here I was with a pearl jewelry set made from 925 sterling silver in my wishlist and began on my road of depression on what to get my friend, I know she loves food!, I said to myself as I returned to the necklace section. “Let me try this again” suddenly a popup FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE AND EVERY NEW CUSTOMER GETS 15% OFF. I was sold, this had to be where I was going to buy this piece of jewelry from. I just got to decide on which piece. To my wishlist to clear the pearl set, I had added earlier. Maybe it was what my heart was saying to give, but at this time my pockets were not cooperating. I had made the hard choice to delete this jewelry set once and for all, there, I was done, to where unwishlisted things go. I began my search once again, I think I was overwhelmed by the number of options I had before me, and that kept me confused. So I started to use the toolbar to the side, to search for a specific price range and the type of items I was looking for. I was down to sixty-seven (67) pieces of jewelry, all necklaces, and all in my budget. Let the games begin I said to myself, no, no, no, not this nope, hmmm………. no, for about the first 20 items. I was in a stage of the no’s I couldn’t decide. Just as I was about to go to another page, I saw this heart-shaped necklace, like a light in the darkest room. As I clicked on it, it read “exquisite heart-shaped necklace made from 100% 925 sterling silver”. I made my checks, it was official the stamp said S925 on the back. It also had in the description, it was plated with both white gold and Rhodium, giving this piece of jewelry that extra shine. She gives me that same shine in my life for all these years. I shouted out loud, “I think we have a winner”, at about $79.99, at the time of writing this, I truly think this is the one. I placed it in my cart and proceeded to the checkout.
The Process of buying jewelry
The process was easy. After filling out all the required information I was able to select free standard shipping. The shipping ranged for delivery from between 35-60 days, unfortunately, so I opted for the paid shipping. It was about $14.80 to have it shipped within 7-21 days. Satisfied with the work I have done in trying to get this wonderful necklace. I know she will love it. Having also placed a few other items I have came across while browsing in my wishlist. I also have the links to the items at the end of this article. I am looking forward to your input. Which item or items you think I should have gotten instead of the piece of jewelry above. As I said, I am a newbie to this, so please take it easy on me.
