Pregnant And Pregnancy

Hi, today I want to share my experience with you on my pregnancy. For you first-time mothers and maybe some of you that have had a son or daughter before, I don’t know if the experience changes but let me start by saying this. People often try to prepare you for motherhood by telling you about their experiences and what to expect when expecting.  It is never quite the same for any two individuals. So let me share a bit of my experience being pregnant.

The beginning of being pregnant

Firstly I would have to say I had no idea that I was pregnant. To begin with, nothing out of the ordinary was happening to me. I was getting that annoying feeling I get before menstruation, so that’s normal. Here I am waiting for menstruation to begin and nothing. Now I wasn’t worried because sometimes it can be a day or 2 days late. So after the two days had passed, I decided to buy a pregnancy test. Low and behold I was indeed pregnant. By a whole 7 weeks, and had not the foggiest clue.

My opinion

In my opinion, a pregnant woman should always be radiant, well dressed and groomed.  As for me, I can say I probably was the laziest pregnant woman ever. post-image-2 I blamed it on the not having anything to wear, but honestly, I hated having to leave home. Then that means I would have to put on clothes and find something that actually still fits. Which most of my clothes couldn’t. So then I had to go shopping.  Shopping consisted of only buying dresses and shirts. Why?  For me as a pregnant woman, I hated anything tight and hugging my body. My pregnancy wardrobe consisted of dresses and short pants.

Self Love

As a pregnant woman, it was important for me to make my self-feel pretty. Those of you who’ve ever been pregnant before know what I’m talking about. Things as simple as putting on makeup can make a huge difference in your mood. Why?  If you look pretty, you feel pretty and you feel good even though you’re 2-3 sizes bigger than you were before. So you have to make you’re self-feel pretty. Even having a compliment from a total stranger can brighten your day.

Just my luck

Luckily for me, I had no morning sickness, no swollen feet, no weird cravings nor insomnia to name a few. I would say I had a pretty good pregnancy.  No one tells you about the frequent trips to the bathroom at night, the stretch marks in places you didn’t even know were places. Those kicks you get in you’re ribs and vagina at random moments and the massive weight gain just to name a few. But they are some perks to being pregnant like not having to wait in long lines or someone constantly offering to do something for you. I would say the best part about being pregnant is not having to see menstruation and the excitement of seeing the little bundle of joy you helped create.

Baby fat

The worst thing a woman can hear after having a baby is the (you look fat line ). And trust me there is fat. If it’s not on your stomach, it’s in your thighs, if it’s not in your thighs, it’s in your arm, and if your lucky enough it’s in your butt.  Despite all the stretch marks, the extra pounds and all the things we see as negatives while being pregnant, we would do all over again, just to meet our little one. I have shared my story with you. How about you share yours with me. I am looking forward to hearing from you in the comments below.
